Practical Home Security Advice for You and Your Family!

Do you want to feel secure at home? I understand. Besides working as a Home Security Consultant, I've dedicated 20+ years of my life as a law enforcement officer working to keep people safe. I have personally investigated literally thousands of crimes. So many times I have been asked "How Can I keep my home safe?"

Now I'm here to help you as your Home Security Advisor. I will give you the best advice I've found that really works to greatly reduce your chances of becoming a victim. I will answer your questions and give you the real, practical advice you need to help you keep your home and family safe in this ever-changing world we live in. Then you can have the peace of mind you are looking for.

As you look through this site I will show you many different ways to keep your home safe. There are many ways in which I have seen people become victims of crime - but the good news is there is a lot you can do to help prevent it from happening to you!

A very important question is: what are the main reasons a criminal chooses one house over another to break in to? The main reason is opportunity. The burglar chooses the house where he thinks he is least likely to get caught - a "soft target" if you will. He is most nervous and afraid of being caught when he first tries to break in to your house. That is where I want you to focus your attention.

You need to make your home a "hard target" and keep the criminals shopping - away from your home. The best way to keep your home safe is to keep the bad guys away from your house in the first place! And you can do that without feeling like you are living in Fort Knox!

Here are some of the most common questions I have been asked about home security:

How do I know if I live in a high crime area - are there ways to find out? What do crime statistics really mean? Who are the most common victims?

What about security for senior citizens - are there steps I can take to protect myself from crime?

Is outdoor security lighting important? What about my inside lighting?

What about Burglar alarm Systems? Are they really helpful?

What type of door locks should I have? What about window locks?

Identity theft has been really increasing - What steps can I take to protect myself?

Each link on the left side will address a common question about home security and what I have found to be really helpful in reducing your chances of being the next victim.

Take some time to look around and email me if you have any questions about home security which you haven't found on this site. I will do my best to get back to you quickly.
